Talking to a Camera

This video is unfathomably embarrassing for me to watch and makes me cringe, so.

I literally can't watch this without having to turn it off thirty seconds in, but you're not me, so please help yourself and watch the entire video.

(song: YOU, Petit Biscuit)
(It's a nice song, I recommend it for studying if you're into that kind of music)

  1. Hi Abby,
Awesome project idea! Hurdling was really fun in middle school for me so I hope you're enjoying it as much as I did. It looks as though you've been progressing really well so I wish you good luck with the rest of your project!

  2. Hi Abby!
I can definitely relate to your self-confidence issues. It's something that I struggle with because I have to play my guitar and sing in front of people, which really nerve-wracking. The videos of you jumping over the hurdles are so cool! I wish I could do that, but I have short legs so I'm not sure if it would work out. It seems as if you've made a lot of progress! I can't wait to see your TED Talk! :~)

    1. Thanks, Hannah. I really wanted to hear you play and sing but the audio on all of the vimeo vlogs weren't working (yours included). I really appreciate the feedback, and I'm glad you understand the whole confidence issue (this whole video really tested my confidence). I also can't wait for my TED talk, but more because I want to get it over with (I have to jump over a hurdle in front of all of you and that's really scary, so). Thanks!

  3. Haha, I'm pretty sure we all hate the sound of our own voice. I read about it once, something about adding more bass. I don't know, I'm not an expert.

Anyways, it's awesome to see that you're enjoying the genius project. It was a unique idea- some people are doing running but nobody's doing hurtling.

As for the self-confidence, for sure. Obviously, It's not as tough for me because I never have to actually be on camera. But I still think when I'm uploading things like "Oh, that camera angle is really weird, I hope nobody notices." That type of thing.

You can certainly see improvement from your first time to now, which is what is important. Good luck on your TED Talk!
